Wagyu × dairy crosses are mainstream abroad, and they come with paperwork. At the World Wagyu Conference in South Africa on Oct. 13 (Farmer's Weekly, Oct. 15), British Wagyu Association chair Richard Saunders said Britain's supply rests largely on pasture-raised F1 Wagyu crossed with dairy breeds such as Holstein and Jersey, and every F1 in its British Wagyu Assured scheme is DNA sire-verified, with audits from farm ID to slaughter. The American Wagyu Association's Jerry Cassady warned that high Wagyu prices tempt others to trade on the name without meeting its standards. Japanese Wagyu prices: Yonhap (via The Herald Business, Sept. 23, 2026), citing The Wall Street Journal, reports the U.S. wholesale price of Japanese wagyu striploin has fallen about 37%, from $65 to $41 a pound, as Japan's supply grows, the yen stays weak and more U.S. importers carry it. Retail still often tops $100/lb; Pursuit Farms' Japanese A4/A5 ribeye shows $130–201/lb on the board.
